In this role, he provided comprehensive support to employees of both We Do Life…Together and Connecticut Transportation Solutions, LLC throughout their tenure. In 2024, Michael transitioned into a new position, focusing on agency-wide compliance and employment practices and laws.
Michael is not only a seasoned expert in his field but also one of our employees’ most dedicated advocates, committed to helping everyone succeed in their roles. From benefit plans and policy oversight to legal and compliance guidance, he works tirelessly to ensure our agency fosters a supportive and equitable environment. As Michael puts it, “Employees must feel safe in their employment and know there is a neutral party they can approach with concerns. I strive every day to protect our company and those we support while ensuring everyone has a voice and is truly heard.”
Michael has over 30 years’ experience as an HR professional, with 20 plus years specifically supporting organizations funded through the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services. He has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Roger Williams University, and a Master of Science Degree in Counseling from St. Bonaventure University. He has been a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) for many years.
Michael enjoys spending time with his wife Karen, and his children Brendan and Tara, and his two pups, Winnie, and Copper. He loves to be outside and enjoys camping. English football and NASCAR are also some of Michael’s favorite pastimes.
Patience. Since we deal with many complex and emotional situations, patience is critical when navigating the complexities of our workplace, supporting our employees' needs, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.
I believe employees should have an advocate and have their voices heard, regardless of the situation.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. It is easy to get caught up in temporary moments and inconveniences, but we need to take a breath and focus on what truly matters, making sure we are making those and the things meaning the most to us our priority.
